photo Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

PET is a molecular imaging technique that demonstrates function, or metabolism, at the cellular level. Using radiotracers prepared from radioisotopes that are produced by a medical cyclotron, typically Carbon 11, Oxygen 15, Nitrogen 13 and Fluorine 18. PET is used ton helping physicians manage their patients in the areas of oncology, neurology and cardiology. Hitachi undertakes total PET/CT systems.
